HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE.....
How long would it take for all that we have to be destroyed - our thoughts and ideas; our perceptions and accusations, theories and reason, or our engineering and critical thinking; or perhaps our ability to grow things to feed ourselves, or what's left of us as a human culture? How long to destroy the culture of the vast communities of beings placed by circumstances together to partake in the products of mankind, to have lived beyond hate and wars, to be grateful and joyful, over what our forefathers and all those before had created; created and fashioned out of the original creation; how long would it take to self destruct?
What did we need to lose? What did we need to keep? Was either worth the effort? Did we think our way back to the past? Did we realize the new future, the outcome as sure as 2+2 equaling 4?
How long did it take to get to where we are today? How hard was it to learn what we have accumulated as education and experience; how many sacrificed to provide a chance to smell the roses, sleep in a bed, design a skyscraper, or discover Artificial Intelligence, to mention just a minute few accomplishments, or, the maned flight and landing on the surface of the moon?
What was always there, regardless of the time, duration, achievement, and provision of man's worst and best efforts? What was it that was valued? The idea, the thought, the concept of some invisible hand that brought about the good times, launched the bad times in anger, and provided the food eat? Was it hope?
How long before our present becomes just a myth like the Pyramids, destroyed not by the atomic bombs or swords of the past, but destroyed from within; within our minds, our ability to perceive, conceptualize, identify, categorize and associate properties of things - things that are needed to live as we were before..
Before we determined that the mind cannot be trusted, that reality is not reality, and reality cannot be trusted; the mind and science are faulty; only emotions rule the day. That the pain of gaining experience, learning, trying, experimenting, struggling, fighting, failing and succeeding was ineffective and an anchor in our desire for some utopian rescue from painful and trying reality.
Was it the act of being virtuous, of valuing life, liberty, freedom that was so troublesome? Was it that the task of identifying, desiring, and acting to achieve those things found to be valuable were to difficult, to troublesome, to achieve?
Was it all the bad things that in the name of freedom and liberty were kept from you? To deceive you? Yes, bad things happen, people, all people do bad things, agreed. And...would you prefer the easy bad , delicious evil over hard right? To provide a life worth living in a world worth fighting for; a place of our own creation and making in the image of some higher power our place to live, exist, love, fight, die and believe in?
