Through all our mysteries as human beings, believing in something that may not exist, having an expectation of something overall good or better than is now the present, is one of our greatest attributes. Something tells us to have faith in the future, the good of things and its reward. Somehow it gives us motivation, it gives us hope. And hope is a measure of our expectation that things will work out and be better for it.
Sometimes we leave signs of our presence, or perhaps our curiosity of what lies ahead. Maybe, in accordance with tradition, we mark the way for others. To be the first, the explorer of unknown territory, how grand would that be? We would be the first, or at least it would be the first time for us, leaving the known territory behind. Looking ahead with excitement, and something new. Or, it could be just that we have crossed this point many times, and something left there reminds of the freshness of each visit, redeems us with new hope, gives us anticipation, past and present combined to provide today's new future.
